Studio Views

Studio Jan. 2013

I live in an old  school house in upstate New York.  I actually went to kindergarten and first grade here!   The two classrooms have been turned into adorable apartments and the attic has been dormered out to create a lovely loft apt. upstairs…This is where I live with my one true Love, Roberto.

My studio is the old gymnasium downstairs; only a third underground with plenty of windows over looking the fields and Alander Mountain.  It’s a dream at 18′ x 40′ and reminiscent of my past studios. It really is such a lovely and amazing  space to be working in.

A while ago…

I lived in an old Methodist church that was built in 1790.

My studio was downstairs.  After a flood in the 1950’s, they jacked the whole building up, moved it back by 500 ft. or so, and built a 6 ft. foundation for it to sit on.  The result was a “basement” that has high ceilings, that was only a third underground and sported french lead windows that let diffused light in.  It got a little chilly in the winter, but, the resulting cool in the dead of summer was heaven.

Some views of the Church Studio with the Circle in Square paintings and the Toy series.
